Tucker Bush Jambinu Zest was grown and packaged at our very own nursery located in the Perth Hills on Whadjuk Noongar country. This heat-loving native herb was nurtured under the plant’s ideal growing conditions, and fed the very same nutrients we recommend to backyard gardeners.
We launched our line of native herb products to help introduce traditional bush food flavours to modern Australian cuisine. Part proceeds from every packet sold helps fund the Tucker Bush Schools Program, cultivating a new generation of plant-loving Aussies with awareness and respect for this country’s unique natural treasures.
Jambinu Zest (Chamelaucium) is a type of Geraldton Wax, a widely cultivated flowering shrub native to Western Australia. While commercial varieties of Geraldton Wax are commonly identified by their ornamental qualities, this bushfood herb gets its name from the Yamatji name for its home region and its strong citrus flavour. In the wild, you can find this species growing in sandy soils in woodland and heath regions in southwest WA.
Tucker Bush acknowledges the wisdom and knowledge of Aboriginal Elders both past and present, acknowledges the custodians of the land upon which our organisation operates, and pays respects to the Aboriginal communities of today.
