Thank you to all the talented contestants who sent an entry into our competition. It’s been inspirational to see so many students getting involved. We really appreciate all the hard work you’ve put in.

The Tucker Bush Schools Program assists schools in establishing their own native bush tucker garden for children, teachers and parents to enjoy. We help teach the children about local Aboriginal culture and the traditional uses of these plants.

The Prize

Tucker Bush Plant school garden starter pack

A collection of twenty Tucker Bush plants delivered to the school. (Perth Metro area) Plant types may vary, as we select the best species for planting based on location, soil, climate and season. We then have a planting session with the children.

Bindi Bindi Dreaming 1-hour educational workshop

An Aboriginal educational incursion to the school in conjunction with the planting session, run by Bindi Bindi Dreaming. An hour would consist of knowledge and expertise about the Noongar Six Seasons, what plants and food and medicines would be in each season, an introduction to Noongar culture (traditional and contemporary).

Education Learning Resource.

This resource has been designed to work alongside the Tucker Bush garden. A variety of Australian Curriculum links have been used to produce these lesson ideas.
